Wardlaw’s Lucky Eye Q: Reviews & Ratings
First time today. Long line about 30 minutes. Smoked brisket is excellent and the sides of collard greens and beans were very good. Staff is friendly and seem to really care that I was there. 1 hour drive but well worth it. Will be back.
Absolutely delicious! We got brisket, hot sausage and pulled pork along with cheesy grits, potato salad, and baked beans. As well as German chocolate cake for dessert and every single item was fresh and delicious! Will be back. Will tell everyone I know to go try it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best brisket this side of the Mason-Dixon line!! You will not find the words "dry" or "tough" in the description of this brisket... It is the most tender and juiciest brisket I've ever had . Hometown goodness at its finest! The meats, the sides, the desserts -- all are excellent!
This place was hands down the best food we've ever had The brisket and pulled pork were both very tender and had so much flavor. The beans were delicious & my husband loved the potato salad. Everything we had was a 10/10. There was a line wrapped around the building but it was absolutely worth the wait. The owner was very kind and humble, as well as the staff. All in all, a great experience! We can't wait to come back!!
I travel all over the country, and Wardlaw’s is the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Everything is cooked to perfection, and they truly appreciate their customers. Ring the bell on your way out to show your appreciation. In my opinion, you can’t get better barbecue anywhere! It’s an hour from my house, but well worth the drive.
The employees are really nice! When you go in you get in line at the same time you are checking out the menu. Once its your turn you choose what you want. I prefer the ribs instead of the brisket, but every one has their own taste buds for me it had to much seasoning so it was salty for me. But that's my opinion, overall I had a good time!
Went on Sat. Got there just shortly after 5 ,they open at 5 on Saturday,y'all better be ready to stand in line for a few ,But it was well worth it me ,OMG!!! BRISKET yummy yummy and the ribs very good to ,My next trip I gotta try the sausage and chicken,I also got macnchess with a lot of cheese, the bomb ! Baked beans good also , Y'all Go Check this place out!! They was outta baked potatoes by 6:30 and beef ribs ,had 2 left so apparently they must be good too or that's how many people had already eaten..only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday ...a they also have take out as well so call ahead and get you some yummy food
Out of all the food groups there are, my favorite has to be BBQ. Which is wildly unfortunate, because I live in Michigan. And nobody says “let’s go to Michigan for their BBQ!” Nobody. I’ve checked. Sure, we have BBQ joints. It’s mostly because we’re all trying to fool ourselves. Deep down we all know it isn’t working. That’s why any time I find myself down south, the only thing in my brain is BBQ. So let’s get this started. This couldn’t be more of a BBQ. From the way the outside looks to the way the inside sounds. You line up and shuffle to the window and order à la cart style. And for a place like this, I wouldn’t want it any other way. Watching a southerner hand cut my BBQ is the equivalent of watching da Vinci himself paint. The trick with BBQ is that you will want all of it. Don’t feel uncomfy at this. It’s expected. I knew for a fact that I wanted brisket. Half point. Done. I then needed baked beans. Done. And who doesn’t love corn on the cob. Done. Then it happened. My brain had that flavor tingle. I needed more. But what? Omg. Sausage. NO! Sausage SANDWICH! Never had one before, but it sounded…no…it FELT right. Done. Look. Sometimes I feel like I exaggerate food. I get excited about it and my brain tingles go all over the place. But the reality of the situation…of THIS situation…is there aren’t enough words to describe the flavors I experienced that day. The brisket was SO tender. Perfectly fatty. Perfectly seasoned. The baked beans? I’d wear them like a second skin. That impromptu sausage sandwich? Buddy. It was sausage on a grilled bun. Bare minimum sandwhich level. Wrong. It was like the messiah himself came down and hand crafted it. Eat from it. For it is his body. The only slight hiccup in this Mona Lisa of a meal, was the corn seemed a little over done. The seasoning? Chef’s kiss. The doneness just missed the mark a little. Now, don’t get me wrong, this is food so good, a little thing like that is easily overlooked. But I’ll be honest. They could have served this meal to me in a wet sock and I would have gladly paid them double. BBQ Perfection: 10/10 Flavor: 10/10 Would walk there from home right now: 12/10
